IOMAU:  International Okinawan Martial Arts Union

In 1989, the International Okinawan Martial Arts Union (IOMAU) was born. It was founded by three (3) traditional martial arts masters who were:

  • Shian Toma, Soke/10th Dan, President of the All Okinawa Seidokan Karate and Kobudo Renmei, Okinawa/Japan
  • Fuse Kise, Soke/10th Dan, President of the All Okinawa Kenshinkan Shorin-ryu Karate and Kobudo Renmei, Okinawa/Japan
  • Rod Sacharnoski, Soke/10th Dan, President of Juko-Kai International®, USA

The IOMAU was conceived for the purpose of teaching and spreading the traditional Okinawan martial arts and ways throughout the Western world. Today, the IOMAU consists of martial arts associations located in the United States, Europe, etc. Rod Sacharnoski was appointed as the International Director in 1989 and is responsible to maintain the IOMAU Registry.
